I missed out on some defining childhood films and television programs that 99% of my generation share. When I was a child, I didn’t watch Sesame Street. I watched Fraggle Rock. I never saw Labyrinth, but I loved The Dark Crystal. And I never actually watched The Neverending Story.

Of course, when I was a teenager, a friend of mine saw fit to rectify this unfortunate situation. But I don’t have that same childhood pull to the film that most people my age do (The Last Unicorn, on the other hand, still holds a special place in my heart, despite how utterly awful it is… particularly the singing).

I’m not really going anywhere with this. I just happen to be watching The Neverending Story for only the second time in my life.

Stupid horse.
